Orange County residents can attend an upcoming open house to learn more about the Orange Grove Road project.
The N.C. Department of Transportation is hosting an open house to provide information and gather public input on plans to extend the road.
The event will be held today at the Orange County Main Library on from 4 to 7 p.m. in the large meeting room, where residents can come and go anytime between those hours.
Project plans are to extend Orange Grove Road from South Churton Street to connect with Highway 70 Business.
According to a press release from the town of Hillsborough, the purpose of this project is to reduce delays for vehicles traveling into Hillsborough and to improve connectivity by providing a new east-west route through town.
While no formal presentation will be made, proposed designs will be displayed and N.C. Department of Transportation representatives will be available to answer questions and listen to public comments regarding the project.
