Orange County Public Transportation is adding a new route with service to Alamance County.
“The Orange County Transit Plan identified a need for service to Alamance County,” Orange County Transportation Department director Theo Letman said in a release. “We are excited to bring this route on-line and provide expanded services to our residents.”
The route begins on Monday, December 18, and will connect major destinations in Hillsborough, Efland and Mebane with hourly service provided in both the eastbound and westbound directions.
The route will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday with a fare of $2 for adults and $1 for children ages six through 17. The route is free for seniors, 60 years and older, and children under six.
All fees will be waived for the month of December though the route will run every day this week, and again on the 28 and 29.
All routes and county offices will be closed December 25 – 27 for Christmas.
