A public utility construction project will occupy the northbound lane on North Greensboro Street in Carrboro near the Century Center starting on Monday, July 15. The town said it estimates work on the project to last for “two to three weeks,” with construction occurring between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, as weather permits.
To accommodate the work, the northbound lane of North Greensboro Street will be shifted to the center turning lane to maintain two-way traffic. A portion of the east sidewalk below Weaver Street will be closed to pedestrians. All other sidewalks will be open as normal.
The Century Center will remain open and accessible during the project. The building includes the town’s Recreation, Parks & Cultural Resources Department and the Police Department.
The town encourages motorists and pedestrians to stay alert and obey all traffic directives during the length of the project.
