West King Street in Hillsborough will be repaved next month, according to the town government. .

The town aims for milling and resurfacing the first block of the street — between Churton and Wake Streets — on the night of June 11, starting at 9 p.m. and finishing at 6 a.m. the next day. The block will be closed during working hours.

Milling and resurfacing of the next block — which extends from Wake Street to West Hill Avenue — will be done during the day. During this time, one lane will be closed at a time to allow vehicles to pass by the roadwork. Motorists should expect delays and pay attention to signage, signaling and flagging along King Street during the extent of the project.

King Street in Hillsborough has had a busy early summer, as the roadway is currently the site of a sewer repair which is expected to last at least through Memorial Day weekend. King Street is closed between Nash and Churton Streets during working hours for the length of the project.
