A construction project along Damascus Church Road in Chapel Hill will impact several Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools bus routes for “at least the next two weeks,” according to a release from CHCCS. Ten buses and 13 routes will be affected.
Student along elementary morning routes will be picked up 20 minutes earlier than usual, while students along middle and high school morning routes will be picked up approximately 20 minutes later, though CHCCS says it may take longer.
In the afternoons, students along elementary routes should expect to arrive 20 minutes later. Middle and high school students should also expect to arrive at least 20 minutes later, though it may take longer.
To track the status of a bus, CHCCS recommends downloading the “Here Comes the Bus” app, which requires the student’s school ID number and district code. The district also recommends considering alternate travel arrangements during the closure. Questions can be directed to CHCCS’s Transportation office at 919-942-5045.
Students who are late to school during the project will not be considered tardy.
