Motorists who use a popular Carrboro corridor will see some construction work near the road on Tuesday and Wednesday.
The Town of Carrboro shared a release advising drivers to be alert for construction flaggers directing traffic along South Greensboro Street. The town’s Communications Manager Catherine Lazorko told 97.9 The Hill the government’s IT department is replacing a town-owned fiber optic cable. The process will be done under the street using various manholes.
According to Friday’s release, the work will take place between Main Street and just south of North Carolina Highway 54, stretching from the Carrboro Century Center to the town’s Public Works Facility.
All travelers on South Greensboro Street are urged to slow down, be alert and drive with caution as the workers are on-site.
