The Town of Chapel Hill is warning residents that some roads will be closed as town crews remove a tree trunk along Franklin Street next week.
The tree — located at the corner of West Franklin Street and Merritt Mill Road — was removed to perform work on a damaged OWASA water line. The trunk will be removed on Tuesday, March 30.
The eastbound lane of Franklin Street and the straight/right turn lane from Merritt Mill Road onto Franklin Street will be closed from 9 a.m. to noon. Drivers are urged to use caution if traveling in this area on March 30.
