More than one thousand Chapel Hill residents lost power Sunday evening, with the outage reaching from West Franklin Street down to North Carolina Highway 54.
Duke Energy, the utility company for the town, said the outage was first reported around 6:16 p.m. on Sunday. According to its Outage Map, Duke Energy estimated more than 1,100 customers were affected. No cause of the power outage was listed as of 7 p.m. Sunday, as utility crews were working to restore power.

Power was fully restored to the area on Sunday night around 10:30 p.m.
