The Chapel Hill Police Department is investigating a hit and run motor vehicle collision that left a pedestrian injured Sunday night.
A release from the Town of Chapel Hill said the collision happened shortly after 6 p.m. on Old Durham Road near Scarlett Drive. Authorities said the vehicle involved did not remain at the scene despite the pedestrian being injured after struck.
The town said the suspected motorist is described as driving a silver or gray colored sports utility vehicle. Emergency services transported the pedestrian to UNC Hospitals for treatment, although the extent of their injuries was not shared in Chapel Hill’s release.
Anyone with information regarding this hit and run is encouraged to call 911 or the Orange County Communications Center at 919-732-5063.
