Motorists who typically use Dimmocks Mill Road in Hillsborough may have noticed some delays or detours on the road Thursday morning.
The Town of Hillsborough alerted residents in a release about a brief closure of the road from between Eno Street and Eno Mountain Road as the Norfolk Southern Railway company conducted bridge repair on a North Carolina Railroad trestle near South Nash Street. The town estimated the roadway beneath the bridge would be closed until about noon on Thursday during the repairs.
Despite the railroad work’s proximity to Hillsborough’s Gold Park, the town assured residents they could still access the public area. Thursday’s release from the town said community members can still use the roadway south of the railroad tracks to access the park, which is located at 415 Dimmocks Mill Road.
