North Carolina Highway 54 is closed in western Orange County Friday evening after a crash reportedly involving a dump truck.
North Carolina Department of Transportation officials said the wreck was reported just before 4:15 p.m. Friday and caused the road to be closed in both directions near Stanford Road approaching the Alamance County line.
ABC 11 is reporting that the wreck involved a passenger vehicle and a dump truck.
DOT officials initially estimated it could be well into Friday evening before the roadway is reopened entirely.
