The left lane of southbound I-85 was closed Tuesday afternoon in a portion of Orange County due to a wreck.
Multiple vehicles appeared to be involved in the collision near mile marker 168, according to footage from North Carolina Department of Transportation. Traffic sensors showed large delays in the southbound lanes approaching the Orange – Durham county line. Travel was slow in each direction as emergency crews were on the scene.
The wreck occurred as a period of heavy rain was moving through Orange County.
Crews were working Tuesday afternoon to fully reopen the roadway; the shoulder remained closed as of 4:15 p.m. There is no word on whether any injuries were sustained due to the crash.
