Durham Police are investigating a hit and run that led to a traffic fatality Monday.
Investigators say 27-year-old Angelica Michelle Holder, of Durham, was involved in a minor vehicle accident shortly after 11 o’clock Monday night when her 2007 Nissan Murano rear-ended another vehicle. Police say Holder then sped away from the scene.
Investigators say Holder’s Murano then ran off the left side of U.S. 70 West and struck an embankment, which caused the vehicle to flip. Holder was not wearing a seatbelt, according to law enforcement, and was ejected from the vehicle.
Police say Holder was pronounced dead at the scene.
No further information is available at this time.
